Coin’s 1st Cultural Festival took place on 26th September
The Multicultural Weekend in Coin saw a wealth of colour hit the town with stalls
full of delicious foods and crafts from the 52 different nationalities who live in
this beautiful part of the Andalucian countryside.
During the day an estimated 3000
local folk of all nationalities as well as tourists, turned out to enjoy themselves,
even though the weather was not at its best.
There were food stalls from Israel, Holland, Morocco, The Caribbean, Ecuador, Spain, Argentina and even a UK stall selling and pies, chips English sausages and curry sauce!
Mojitas from Ecuador, Rum punch from the Caribbean, mint tea from Morocco, Tetley tea from the UK and the Spanish beer all went down well!
There were various live acts appearing in the Alameda including such things as Flamenco, Line Dancing , TAPAS singers, Dutch Rock Music , a Theatrical rock & roll duo, an accapella harmony group, folk masters The Sessionistas & local band Snakey Jake with their blend of Rock and Blues.

Well after a long holiday, the films in English are coming back to La Trocha! This soundtrack is working for Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jnr and Jude Law and we have the film for three sessions on Wednesday 27th January at 7.30pm, Monday 1st February at 7.30pm and Wednesday 3rd February at 10pm.
For his role as the lead character, Robert Downey Jnr won a Golden Globe and generally the film has received positive reviews.
As our first film in around 6 weeks, it is hoped that support is strong. The better the turnout for the films in English, the stronger the case for future films.

Over 2000 tickets have been sold so far this year....
Wednesday 2nd December was a very busy night at the cinema! Not only were there
114 people to see the film 2012 but we also passed our 2000th ticket sold since the
current season of films started in February!
This is good news for the cinema team, for La Trocha, for the local restaurants & bars but above all, a great thing for everyone that has enjoyed English soundtrack films on their doorstep.
The 2000th ticket was bought by Jade & Andy from Monda who won some free tickets to the cinema.

Meet Lady...a female German shepherd dog. She is a very loving dog and has not got an ounce of aggression in her. She had a bad start to her life and it shows in her eyes. She has so much love to give to the right family. She is 15 to 18 months old. Good with cats and dogs. Has been micro-chipped and spayed and had her injections
Our animals have been micro-chipped, vaccinated, neutered and treated for worms and fleas. We are happy to advise you on all aspects of adoption including overseas transportation. We may be able to arrange a short term fostering period in order to assess suitability.
If you are unable to adopt but would like to sponsor any of our animals or make a financial contribution to their care, please contact us. Please call us if you are interested in re-homing this animal or if you would like to discuss any other animals that we have currently available.
