New band playing live gigs in Coin...
Hitting the live music scene in Andalucia this coming May is a newly formed band called ‘Coín Box’, a five piece group playing popular and progressive rock covers from the last forty years.  Included are classic tracks from Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Santana, Gary Moore and Thin Lizzy to the Stones, Beatles, Lynard Skynard, Chuck Berry and much more.

The band consisting of John ‘T’ (Drums), Big Al (Rhythm), Kenny ‘S’ (Lead),  Geoff ‘K’ (Bass) and Al ‘D’ (Vocals) brings years of experience collectively to the live music circuit, having been associated with many bands and artists over the years.

Their first gig was at Aquamania (Coin to Cartama Road) on the evening of Saturday 2nd May where they went down a storm with the audience of
around 70 people were treated to a very high standard of musicianship with a very powerful opening rendition by lead vocalist,  Al Davies, of the Gary Moore classic ‘Walking by Myself’.  This was followed by a number of tracks, played in the groups own very individual and animated style, which included excellent lead guitarist, Kenny Spencer, blowing the blues harp during a special arrangement of Mustang Sally.
The next gig was at JK’s snooker hall (behind La Trocha, Coin) on the evening of Friday 8th May.
Keep your eyes open for more news of this popular local group!

August 2009 update - ‘COÍN BOX’ GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH!

Venta El Pescador was the latest venue for all to witness another fantastic evening of entertainment by the popular rock band ‘Coín Box’ who are quickly gaining a reputation as the premier live music band on the inland and coastal music scene.
Last Friday saw a polished performance with classic and off the wall songs culminating again with a full dance floor adding new covers from Queen, The Who and Nickelback.
A media music critic who had turned up especially for the show told the band after the gig, ‘you have to be one of the best live bands I’ve seen since being in Spain’, with many other tributes paid to the band members.
‘Coín Box’ have very few free dates left for September or October so early enquiries are advised. Also with Christmas and of course New Year’s Eve fast approaching, now is the best time to confirm and secure your live band and avoid disappointment for the ultimate live music experience for the festive season.
Also, look out for the all new ‘Coín Box’ web site soon to be hitting the internet with features, profiles and up to date info on the band and as usual, look for public gig info in all popular media publications.
