The Municipal Library in Coín now offers English language books.
Coin’s municipal Library now offers a small foreign language books section which includes some books in English. The initiative comes from the Library Service of the Junta de Andalucia.

There are books for adults and children and although the selection is fairly small, it is hoped that the there will be a larger selection of titles as time goes on.

Many libraries in Andalucia have received foreign language books.  The number of books received and the range of languages varies depending on the official numbers of foreign residents registered to each town. So in Coin there are English, Romanian, German and Arabic books available in addition to the normal range of books in Spanish.
To join the library is very easy.  There is a simple form to fill out which basically requires details of your name, address and some form of identification (Nie, Residencia card, passport etc).  Depending on how busy the library is on the day of your registration, a card will be made for you there and then or you may have to return the next day to collect your library card.

Once you have the library card you can take up to 8 books for a period of 2 weeks.  If you need to renew any of your books, take them back to the library on or before the due date and ask for the books to be re-issued to you.  The library card also entitles you to use any of the other municipal libraries run by the Junta De Andalucia.

The Library is in Calle Pozo Solís which is the road behind the Casa de la Cultura, Papeleria Maria Lucena and Todoserv, next to the INEM office.
