English language broadcasts on Canal Coin TV Following the huge success of the English programming on Canal Coin Radio  (Monday to Friday 9am to 11am), Canal Coin Television is offering some English language broadcasting. Initially, local news reports at the weekends will be in English with Spanish Subtitles and in Spanish with English subtitles so that anyone studying either language can use this as a learning tool.. The news reports will be at 1pm and 7.30pm on Saturdays & Sundays

The Andalucian Garden Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at Bar La Peñita (alongside the BP Garage) Alhaurin el Grande. Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. The Art Group you were waiting for. The U3A-Inland is pleased to announce that from Tuesday 12th January 2010 you can join the Art Group and paint what you like or paint what you know. Reading workshops on education in values. Every Thursday until June 17 to 18 hours, in the Library Hermosa Municipal Fernando and Santiago starting with reader plan for children in primary education, with the title "The Tales chest. Stories for values education. " Participation in the workshops is open, free and requires no reservation.

Saturday 27th February The Saturday market from 10.00am onwards and the CHAIN charity auction at JK’s Matchroom behind La Trocha.  so if you have anything lying around that you no longer want, bring it up between 12 noon and 1.30pm, we will auction your items for you and you get to keep 85% of what they fetch with the other 15% going to CHAIN. The auction starts at 2.00pm sharp.

Saturday 6th March - Live Blues Music at Leslie’s bar in Coin.  This is their second blues night where local amateur blues musicians take the time to come and entertain us and enjoy their music. Monday 8th March U3A ramblers -  we will be meeting at 10.30am at Monda car park.   As the weather has been so bad lately we are limited to the walks we can do, so this is the walk we did just before Christmas. The walk will be nice and easy,  just under  8km. We will be leaving Monda by road and crossing over the bridge as we cannot go the normal way due to the river being too high. We will then join the track with quite a flat walk for approx 2km then we will start a loop with a gradual climb where we will get some great views of Monda village. We will stop for refreshment at a  viewing place then work our way back to the usual bar in Monda.  Contact Roy for more details 665048262.

Thursday 11th March - What Women Want. To celebrate the opening of Heart F.M.'s new premises on the Poligono La Rosa in Alhaurin El Grande, there is an event being organised by Sue Hart especially for women.  There are many exhibits including hair, make-up, fashion and jewellery, hand made soaps, food to name but a few.  The date is 7.30-10.30 p.m.  Free entrance and a glass of wine and nibbles on arrival.  Ample parking.  Money raised goes to Have a Heart Charity.  For further details please contact Sue on 669514733.

July - Coin Art Exhibition - ‘ESPACIO DE ARTE LIBRE’.  An exhibition to express the idea of freedom in art.  Freedom in the biggest sense, so, freedom of participation, of theme, of style and presentation.   The objective of this festival will be to create a general festival ambience between those working within the art field and those that love the arts. The festival will take place on the last weekend in July, anyone wanting to participate needs to do so before the end of June.
